Admission Letter
Once you complete the application form, you will receive the confirmation email. The response time may vary from 15 days to 40 days. You will get an admission or rejection email. Once you are selected in pre-assessment, you are ready to apply for Pre-enrollment.
Pre- Enrollment
The Italian higher education system is circulating around one common website named Universitaly.it. On this website, you will have to sign up and register for yourself. It is also free but you must have an admission letter from the university.
Once you fill in the form by selecting your university and department correctly, the university will get all this information. After approval from the respective department, the university admission office will approve your pre enrollment. You will be given the option to select the nearest embassy as well.
Visa Process
Once your pre enrollment is verified, all data will be sent to that relevant embassy/consulates.Now, each embassy/ consulate has a different document list available on their website. You must check their document list and prepare your file for your visa. Some embassies may ask for an interview but some don’t require interviewing students.

The most important step is to apply for a scholarship. There are certain scholarships available on their official website. You can apply for all of them but at the end you have to accept one only.
Departmental Scholarship
Every department has their own scholarship. You can check your department website to get an idea about scholarship application and amount. In most cases you can apply till September 2024. Once your admission is confirmed, you can apply for that. Amount of these scholarships may vary from 6000-8000 euros/ year.
Regional Scholarship
This is the easiest scholarship for students. More than 90% of students are availing this scholarship. Its application starts from the start of June 2024. You need an admission letter to apply for this scholarship. You can apply for this scholarship until 31 July 2024.
The scholarship amount is approximately 6657 euros/ year for international students. Female students with degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Management) will get extra 20% of the scholarship.
University of Genova Hostels
The University of Genova can provide student housing for its international students. You can apply for their accommodation after your final selection. These accommodations are offered at a discounted price of approx. 250 euro/ month.
Some of the university dormitories have shared rooms and some are single bedded rooms as well. You can find a common kitchen for your cooking. You can also have easy access to restaurants for outdoor dinings.
